EAMCEF is known as Eastern Arc Mountains Conservation Endowment Fund that was brought up as long term and reliable finding ways to improve on community development, Biodiversity through various research projects which aim to promote Biodiversity, ecology and Sustainability in the use of Natural Resources
The Organisation was officially introduced in Tanzania since June of 2001 under Act Cap 318 R. E. 2003 of Laws of Tanzania and originally conceived as joint initiative of the government of the United Republic of Tanzania working with Board of Trustees (BOT) and Global environmental Facility(GEF).
The Organisation through Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism where by total of US 2.4 mil credit facilities to finance activities and operations of the 7years of first phase from 2002 to 2009. The second phase came mainly from incomes generated to invest on Endowment capital from GEF of US 7.0 MIL
